Statement work for UK bookkeepers

Client bank statements in. Xero-ready CSV out. Reconciled.

Send the PDFs for one bank account, up to twelve months. You get back every transaction, categorised to your chart of accounts, with the balances checked line by line against the statement. Every job is checked by a person before it’s returned.

The bit nobody quotes for

Twelve PDFs, three banks, and no CSV export for a closed period.

So someone on your team spends an afternoon retyping it, and then another hour hunting the £40 that stops the closing balance from matching.

It isn't difficult work. It's work that has to be done, that nobody budgeted for, and that you can't bill at your normal rate.

What comes back

One file, and a straight answer about whether it's complete.

Format
CSV formatted for Xero import, or Excel. QuickBooks and Sage layouts on request.
Every transaction
Date, description, money in, money out, running balance — in the order the statement has them.
Categorised
Send your chart of accounts and we map to it. Don't send one and we use a standard UK set.
Reconciliation check
Opening balance plus movements must equal the closing balance printed on the statement. If it doesn't, we tell you which page and which line. We don't quietly plug the gap.

How it works

Three steps, and none of them are yours.

Step 1

Send the PDFs

By email, after checkout. One bank account, up to twelve months of statements.

Step 2

We do the work

Extraction, categorisation, reconciliation. Checked by a person before it goes anywhere.

Step 3

You get the file

Within 24 hours, by email. Import it and move on with the job.

Why the balance check is the whole product

Plenty of tools give you a file. None of them tell you whether it's complete.

A page that failed to parse. A line split across a page break. A transaction read twice. None of that is visible in a spreadsheet.

It becomes visible three weeks later, when the reconciliation is out by £63.99 and nobody can say why.

Every job we return either agrees with the statement, or comes back with a note saying exactly where it doesn't.

Questions

Asked before anyone sends the first PDF.

What if the statements are scanned or photographed?

Fine — but say so when you send them. Turnaround may be 48 hours instead of 24.

Which banks?

Any UK bank. The PDF layouts differ. The reconciliation check doesn't.

What if the file comes back wrong?

Tell us and we redo it. If it's still not right, we refund. At £9 this shouldn't be a decision you have to think about.

Is this software I have to learn?

No. You send PDFs by email and get a file back by email.
